Nine bus routes empty into the lane between 8:20 and 8:40 — Mehdipatnam, Nampally, Malakpet, Charminar. Every bus has GPS and a named attendant, and the office knows which children are on which one before they arrive.

Class strength is capped at 28 in primary and 34 in high school. Subject teachers from class VI. Homework is set on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only, and it is meant to take under an hour.
The library is open through both breaks, which is when it is at its busiest — a growing collection in three languages and a librarian who will find you the next one.
Physics, chemistry and biology, each with enough stations that no student watches from the back. Forty computers on a fibre line, and a teacher who lets you break things and then makes you fix them.
Practical work is not a demonstration the teacher performs. Every student does every experiment, and the record book is checked.
Forty minutes. Most children bring a box; the school keeps a supply for the ones who forget, and no one is told who they are.
Cricket, kabaddi, throwball, athletics. Every class gets the ground twice a week and it does not get quietly turned into a revision period in February.
